📝 Ingredients
-
1 lb ground beef (or Italian sausage)
-
1 jar (24 oz) marinara or pasta sauce
-
1½ cups water
-
9 uncooked oven-ready lasagna noodles
-
1½ cups ricotta cheese
-
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
-
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
-
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
-
Salt and pepper to taste
-
Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
👩🍳 Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
-
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Drain excess grease.
-
Stir in the pasta sauce and water. Simmer for 3–4 minutes.
-
In a 9×13″ baking dish, spread a thin layer of meat sauce.
-
Layer 3 uncooked noodles, then dollop with ricotta, spoon over more sauce, and sprinkle with mozzarella. Repeat layers (noodles → ricotta → sauce → cheese) until ingredients are used up. Top with Parmesan.
-
Cover tightly with foil and bake for 40 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 5–10 minutes until bubbly and golden.
-
Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh basil if desired.
💡 Tips & Variations
